The unit is fitted with two primary coils - an upper finned coil, and a lower 28mm super duty coil.  By always diverting the entire boiler supply to the top section when called for, the system ensures that small volumes of hot water are available in a very short time.  The primary flow can be diverted by the zone valves [35] to provide the following modes of operation:
1.  Heat top 25% of store, then stop (ideal for low demand periods).
2.  Heat top 25% of store, then heat up lower 75%, then stop.
Both Bank Thermal Stores of heat exchangers draw from the top of the store, with each Bank Thermal Store capable of providing 45 litres per minute of mains pressure hot water (may be increased by up-rating the pumps [3]).
The Flow Switch is fitted with a 22mm By-Pass. This can be used to reduce the mains pressure drop across the unit. The valve should be balanced so that the pump [3] switches on at the minimum hot water flow rate.
